Lauren Archer Coaching & Hypnotherapy
Based in Seattle, Washington, USA and Hua Hin, Thailand, working with clients worldwide.
For more than three decades, I've helped people discover and use the most powerful tool they have — their own mind.
As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, HeartMath® Certified Coach, NLP Practitioner, and mindfulness trainer, my approach is evidence-based and body-informed.
I have a deep respect for what the world’s wisdom traditions have understood about human nature, long before modern neuroscience and clinical research caught up.
People come to me with all kinds of challenges — anxiety, a habit they can't seem to shake, a medical procedure they're worried about, or just a quiet feeling that they've somehow lost touch with themselves.
Whatever brings someone to my door, what we're really working with is the mind's remarkable ability to change.
That capacity lives in everyone, and it works best when you know how to engage it. My job is to help you do that.
"Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate."
— Carl Jung
How I Got Here
I didn’t plan to become a hypnotherapist. I planned to work in media.
My first job out of college was with a company called Motivation Media — a creative services firm that produced large-scale national sales conferences for Fortune 500 companies. We designed the content, built all the media, and then took the show on the road: staging, sound, lighting, and the kind of carefully engineered atmosphere meant to move people. I was good at it, and I found it genuinely fascinating.
My Aha Moment
But one evening in the mid-1980s, sitting in the back of a darkened hotel ballroom we’d transformed into a theater, I watched a senior vice president take the stage to announce the company’s salesperson of the year. The winning bonus check was displayed on a screen behind him — a number larger than my annual salary.
“If he earns that in a single bonus,” I thought, “how much is my time worth? And more importantly — what is actually worth doing with it?”
That question stayed with me. Over the next thirty years, I followed it sincerely: through philosophy, psychology, and the human potential movement; through hypnosis and the mind sciences, somatic work and spirituality, quantum physics and Indigenous wisdom traditions. I trained with mentors I deeply respected. I sat in silence. I walked on fire — twice. I kept asking what was actually true about how human beings change, and what conditions make change sustainable.
What I found, distilled across every tradition I encountered, is that lasting transformation is not a matter of willpower or strategy. It happens at a deeper level — in the subconscious patterns, the nervous system, the relationship between mind and body that most of us never learn to consciously engage.
That’s the territory I work in.
“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

How I work
My private practice is built around one-on-one hypnotherapy and coaching, tailored to the individual. I support clients across all walks of life — from breaking unwanted habits and easing medical anxiety, to managing stress and building the kind of inner calm that stays with you, even when life gets hard.
Most sessions include a custom guided recording for you to return to between our work together, deepening and reinforcing the shifts we create in session. I see clients worldwide — all sessions are conducted by video call.
